Laura Scarlett Lewis

Laura Scarlett’s love for playing and creating music began when she discovered her father’s vintage acoustic guitar as a teenager. After making a name for herself in the Toronto open mic scene, Laura began collaborating with her partner David Disher on a genre-defying and diverse body of recordings. Their pop project Scarlett & Disher began as a way to share their original Christmas music and covers of their favourite pop songs with their friends and family. More recently, they have dabbled in a variety of genres of pop and electronic music inspired by their obsession with classic pop music of the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. Laura brings a unique, character-driven approach to her songwriting, often employing detailed layering of performances to craft an expressive and highly emotional sound.
